Michael Baker was a bookseller in London and member of the Stationers' Company. Bound as an apprentice to Robert Dexter in 1598, he was turned over to George Potter in 1602 and took his freedom in 1606. He was documented as a bookseller at St Paul's Churchyard at the sign of the Greyhound in 1610-11, and in 1610 acquired rights to seventeen works from William Welby, including theological texts and works related to Virginia.
